I have this unusual craving for American breakfast that pops up occasionally. The weirdest thing about that craving is that it doesn’t just torture me during breakfast hours. It can come at any time on any day. Usually if one had a craving for American breakfast say in the evenings he would be screwed until the next morning.

That’s unless you knew about this wonderful invention that the folks at Departure Lounge in Solaris Mont Kiara call the All Day Breakfast.

All Day Breakfast is exactly what it sounds like. They serve breakfast all day long so you can get your American breakfast fix at any time of the day, well at least within their opening hours. Oh but you better make a note that they don’t open on Tuesdays.

Hot chocolate for the wife (RM 7.00).Fresh Orange Juice for me (RM 7.50)

They have this thing here called the Do It My Way (DIMW) breakfast where you get to select what you want for your breakfast from a list of 13 items (or so). You can choose from a 3, 5 or 7 item configuration. Can’t remember the prices for the other configurations but the 5 item one we had was RM 11.90 which feels a little bit more expensive that what I paid for previously so I think they’ve raised their prices a little. Each DIMW breakfast comes with a slice of toast.

Turkey Ham, Turkey Bacon, Hash Brown, Fish Fingers and Plain Omelette (RM 11.90).

Chicken Sausages, Beef Bacon, Baked Beans, Canned Mushrooms and Scrambled Eggs (RM 11.90)

The DIMW breakfast is really just so-so. Unfortunately turkey and beef is ham/bacon is no substitute for the real thing (I mean pork of course).

Weekday 2 Course Meals at TGI Fridays

TGI Friday’s has a 2 course-meal set going on. It’s RM 29.90 for an appetizer and one entree. Add RM 6.00 for 2 vodka glasses worth of desserts. Doesn’t include any drinks though. Not exactly cheap if you really think about it but I guess it beats ordering ala carte

Boneless Wings. Quite a few pieces of chicken. Its got some spicy sauce on it for some extra kick. Good stuff. I’m not a celery person though

One wonderful thing about TGI Fridays is their Kids Eat for Free promotion. All you need to do is to order one main course and you can order something off the kids menu for free. We chose the Chicken fingers. It went very well with the sweetened mustard they served it with.

I’m not a big proponent of eating at TGI Fridays but I must say their cheese burger is really quite a treat. Their beef patty is as thick and juicy as it looks. This coupled with the buffalo wings is actually enough for 2 persons (not to mention the free kid’s meal).

The RM 6.00 Desserts – Mocha Latte and Chocolate Oreo Mint Crunch. The Oreo one was really nice.

Offtopic: My lovely kids.

Total damage for the night was slightly over RM 50.00 including drinks. It was a single set shared between 2 adults. Photos were taken in the Hartamas Shopping Center branch.
